Modern Slavery & Responsible Sourcing

Modern Slavery Statement

Asquith Workforce specialises in permanent, temporary, labour hire, apprenticeships/traineeships as well as pre-employment programs to the domestic market.

As such, the company has declared its intent to understand its markets and identify customer needs and requirements. This ensures that we are delivering services that provide customer satisfaction and quality outcomes.

Our Mission Statement

We are committed to working to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians by creating Engaging, Empowering and Inspiring media, communications and events for all.

Our Commitment

We will continue to identify and evaluate risks relating to human rights and develop our policies, procedures, and training to help combat modern slavery. We are committed to continually improve our business to support the Modern Slavery Act 2018.

Our Stance Against Modern Slavery

We are committed to conducting business responsibly and ethically and to ensuring that all aspects of our business practices, including our supply chains, are free from any form of slavery. We reject any and all forms of modern slavery which can take the form of unpaid or underpaid servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. We are committed to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that it does not take place within our own business or through any of our supply chains.

Our Risk Assessment & Due Diligence

We assess the risk of modern slavery taking place in our business by identifying and managing any areas of concern within our business operations and any external suppliers. As a labour and recruitment company operating only in Australia, there is no risk of modern slavery occurring within our direct business operations. However, we recognise we could be potentially indirectly exposed to the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking through our supply chains and subcontractors who could potentially procure materials which are not ethically sourced.

Due to the nature of our business, we do not make use of high-risk supply chains, which are susceptible to modern slavery risks. We have taken the following actions to manage that risk:

  • Purchasing, where possible, certified consumables; and
  • Partnering with suppliers who share our stance on modern slavery.

Responsible Sourcing

  • Display ethical conduct when dealing with our suppliers and outsourcing providers.
  • Have a process of reporting unethical behaviour.
  • Have a process in place to source locally and nationally where possible to achieve our recruitment targets.
  • Encourage employees and candidates to report unethical behaviours to Asquith Workforce immediately.
  • Be a role model in advocating our framework.
  • Continually improve our processes, expectations and actions to achieve our Responsible Sourcing Policy.

Job Active Providers

As such, Asquith Workforce set the employment conditions of the candidate, which are noted above in ‘Employment Conditions’. The Job Active Provider will not pay the candidate in undertaking assignments on behalf of Asquith Workforce. Asquith Workforce screen all candidates as per the ‘Process 360’ Model and undertake any applicable VEVO, WWCC, Security or Police Checks as appropriate to ensure that the candidate fits the job brief.

If in the event that the candidate does not satisfy the applicable requirements of the job brief, the Managing Director and Job Active Provider will be notified. The candidate will be removed from the job and notes made within the CRM.

Continual Improvement

We aim and strive for continual improvement in our responsible sourcing and as such, will review our framework and processes to align with our clients. We will also encourage all of our workers, potential candidates, suppliers and clients to act in the same way.

We will undertake any education around responsible sourcing to ensure we are kept abreast of any industry changes that could enhance our Responsible Sourcing Policy.
